A Smashing Game Recommendation

We’re finally back from Canada, where we played a ton of board games with my siblings.  Most of my brothers and brother-in-laws love games, and if you weren’t aware of it yet, Josh and I do too!  We’re known to bring new games each time we visit, and this time was no different.

We brought the game Carcassonne, which was a smashing hit:

If you enjoy games such as Settlers, you’ll definitely enjoy this game.  In fact, I prefer Carcassonne over Settlers by far.  Another major perk for Josh and me is that it is an excellent two person game.  We’ve tried a lot of games with just the two of us (Monopoly, Settlers, Dominion, Rummikub, and others) but most games flop with just two players.  But not Carcassonne.  Josh and I have played it together multiple times and are still loving it.  A further bonus is that it’s quite easy to learn and it doesn’t take a ton of time to set up.

So why not enjoy some competitive quality time together?

Thanks for the recommendation! We’ll have to get it, seeing as we love games too! We actually visited Carcassonne last May – absolutely amazing city!! As for settlers – do you have the city and knight addition? It’s much better than the regular settlers, but can’t be played with 2 players. We sometimes play regular settlers with the two of us and go to 13 or 15 points. There’s also 2 card games from settlers, one of which is really good. I’m not sure if it’s over in the US, seeing as it’s from German origin?
Looking forward to playing some games Up North!! Who knows…maybe also in GR if we’re able to come down (or else we’ll have to get together sometime outside of Up North?)

  4. That would be amazing to actually visit the real city! We don’t have the city and knight addition at this point, and we’ll definitely have to look into the card games.

It’ll be lots of fun Up North, and definitely if you come to GR! Can’t wait to see you guys again. Enjoy the rest of your visit with Bri and Ange.
